From Western China, this Codonopsis (sometimes spelled 'Dang Shen') is unusual, subtle, rare, and delicate. Fuzzy, weaving stems support small soft leaves and a bell-flower with a complex and exquisite color that is hard to pin down: pale yellow-green, milky-blue inside, softly striped with purple inside. The root is used medicinally in China. (This is not a suggestion.) 6 ft. in length. Minimum temperature: -10° F
