Greek for "wool-bearing," Eriophorum or clumping Cotton Grass grows with large, tufted, downy, white nodding spikelets in summer. It will naturalize to make a "cotton patch" if in a somewhat acidic and boggy area. Intriguing next to Ophiopogon 'Ebony Knight,' Sarracenia (Pitcher Plant), and Caltha (Marsh Marigold).
