Punches Well Above the TroposphereThe troposphere is the layer of the Earth’s atmosphere below the stratosphere. We’re not sure, but we think that’s where the Fender Custom Shop Troposphere Strat HT got its name, as its underwound single-coil pickups produce an output that’s “one layer” below a typical Stratocaster. That said, this solidbody electric guitar’s tone punches well above the troposphere, past the stratosphere, and to the stars and beyond. This limited-edition Custom Shop axe feels as amazing as it sounds, too, thanks to its comfortable single-piece tinted rift-sawn maple neck and easy-playing compound-radius fingerboard, and its relic’d nitrocellulose lacquer finish is truly head-turning. A 2-piece off-center-seam alder body and rock-solid hardtail Strat bridge with “Pat-Pend” saddles complete the picture.
