Peychaud's (pay-SHOHDS) bitters originated from a family recipe brought over to America by a pharmacist named Antoine Amedee Peychaud. Antoine fled Haiti in 1795, eventually settling in New Orleans. He often mixed up his special brandy toddy according to this recipe using his private line of bitters. This mixture then evolved into the "Sazerac", a cocktail which some claim was the "original" cocktail. In July of 2008, the Sazerac legally became the Official Cocktail of New Orleans through the Louisiana Legislator. **Available in continental U.S. only** Product Information Available in 5 oz Glass Bottles / CASE OF 12 A New Orleans Tradition since 1973. 35% Alcohol by Volume
