Apache Canyon Rock Slab 296

Apache Canyon dendritic rhyolite is an increasingly rare material from Deming, New Mexico that is noted for its awesome desert landscape scenes.  Dark maroon silhouettes on a reddish/pink, and occasionally white/yellow background produce some amazing “rock pictures”.   A very hard rhyolite, it takes a great polish, making exceptional finished pieces.  A definite “must” for any serious artisan or rock collector. Origin:  New Mexico Dimensions:  2.75" x 1.75" and approximately 6.9 mm thick.  Weight = 42 grams. Shown wet.  Not polished.  Known flaws are shown as white lines in the final picture frame.
