Puy de Dome is technically a part of the Loire Valley in Central France, but the landscape is so other-worldly that it's easy to forget it. Cratered volcanoes, long dormant, covered in vibrant green forest dot the skyline. It's an impressive landscape, and the volcanic soils of this UNESCO World Heritage Site make for some seriously delicious wines. This Pinot Noir is silky and fruit-forward thanks to fermentation and aging all in stainless rather than wood.
