The soils here are rich in marly limestones, such as Alberese and Galestro, contributing to the wine's distinctive minerality. The combination of high altitude and rocky terrain imparts freshness, elegance, and a harmonious balance to the Sangiovese grapes cultivated in these vineyards. The WineIstine Chianti Classico is made predominantly from organically farmed Sangiovese grapes, with a minimal addition of Malvasia and Canaiolo, comprising less than 1% of the blend. This vintage presents a vivid, linear profile, showcasing aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and subtle floral notes.
