Alexandra Weigela is a spring flowering shrub with vivid pink flowers and burgundy-tinged foliage.  Highly ornamental. Grows easily in average, well-drained soil. Will also tolerate clay soils. Planting Tips Generally low maintenance and pest free. Flowers best in full sun.  Prune after flowering in the spring, as this shrub blooms on old wood.   Tolerant of different soil types, but do not allow to dry out.
