Aged Dark Bodhi Mala

A true antique bodhi seed mala purchased directly by the DharmaShop team in Kathmandu.  These incredible aged beads are so dark that they're almost black. Made of 108 small, well used dark bodhi beads.  Each bead is rich in color with a beautiful sheen as well as its own shape and texture.  Mala has been restrung in recent years on yellow cord in the traditional manner with tied ends and matching antique bodhi toggles. These dark-speckled seed beads have special meaning for all seekers of divine wisdom.  "Bodhi" in Sanskrit means enlightenment; as an "enlightened" seed, many practitioners use these malas for their essence and inherent teachings within each seed. On their trip to Nepal in October 2019, DharmaShop owners, Christy and Sander Cohen were walking a kora around the Boudhanath stupa when they saw an individual seller with a variety of bodhi seed malas.  As they began talking with the seller, monks from the nearby monastery came by and they discussed the beautiful quality
