Each mask is handmade in Los Angeles with Italian silk on the outside and medical grade cotton or silk on the inside. Between these layers rests a removable N95 rated* polypropylene filter. This new collection of masks have been re-designed so that the straps fit securely on the back of the head. We recommend S/M for most smaller faces and M/L for larger faces. In order to pass through a filter made from heavily interlaced polypropylene fibers, viral particles must crawl through a rather tortuous path, and as a result will get stuck. These particles then die out on their own rather quickly as they no longer have a host. Click here for more about the science behind N95 respirators. Please hand wash or dry clean all masks, and remove the filter when doing so. For each mask sold, a handmade children’s mask will be donated to hospitals and treatment centers in need.
