
Tony Price - Requiem for the Ontario Science Centre LP
Tony price presents Requiem for the Ontario Science Centre, a new full-length lp on his maximum exposure label that pays homage to the beloved Canadian landmark and renowned brutalist architectural marvel, which was abruptly closed in the summer of 2024. Designed by the legendary Canadian architect Raymond Moriyama, the Ontario Science Centre first opened its doors in 1969, during a period of utopian optimism in Canada when the future felt like a terrain to be explored rather than a crisis to be managed. The building’s cascading terraces and angular concrete forms seemed to rise organically from the surrounding don valley terrain, embodying a dialogue between the constructed and the natural—a dialogue that echoed the science centre’s commitment to exploring the relationship between human ingenuity and the natural world.
