
Kemtec™ Analysis of Fingerprints Classroom Kit
This kit is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in dusting for fingerprints and developing latent fingerprints from various surfaces. The kit includes a variety of powders and techniques for lifting and developing fingerprints on slides and paper using Ninhydrin and Lugol’s Iodine methods. The cyanoacrylate fuming method is used to visualize fingerprints on a metal spoon and students learn to identify direct prints. In addition to learning about fingerprint analysis, the kit also includes Modus Operandi sheets to help students identify the fingerprints of suspects using FBI fingerprint standards. Each investigative group prepares "fingerprint evidence" for another group to analyze. The kit includes instructional manuals and student worksheets and is designed for 24 students working in six groups of four.
