Innate Kalachakra
The unchanging or immutable cycles of time are represented by the Kalachakra deity in union with his consort Vishvamatha. While the masculine aspect represents the mind of immutable bliss, the feminine aspect represents the sublime empty form. These two are in fact of one essence, representing our own absolute nature. This thangka was commissioned by Khentrul Rinpoche to be painted exactly according to the Kalachakra tantra texts. The accuracy and level of detail in this version are extremely beneficial and important for serious practitioners. Thangkas are traditional scroll paintings which are used as supports for meditation. They usually depict various representations of deities, mandalas and enlightened beings. Since the outer representation of deities is often one of the first things we encounter, it is extremely important for these representations to be painted accurately in order to create the best karmic propensities for the teachings to flourish in the mind of the student.
