Born in Taipei Taiwan, Violist Huang Hung-Wei was serving as a Guest Principal Viola of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra and London Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2018, he became a member of the New York Philharmonic and in 2020, he won the position of Principal Viola of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.  Huang has also performed as a chamber musician in Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Hall, Weill Recital Hall in New York, Jordon Hall in Boston, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., as well as The Marlboro Music Festival, Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, Great Mountain Music Festival, Seoul Spring Festival and Taiwan Connection music festival.  Huang began his music lessons at the age of seven, with Lin Chia-Zong, and won the Taiwan National Instrumental Competition in 1993.
