Artist: Takahashi Hiroaki (Shôtei) 高橋松亭 弘明 Title: Tone River in the Evening Date: 1912-1923 Geese fly in formation above two boats at sail on the Tone River. Above hangs a crescent moon, and the deep sunset glow casts the village roofs in silhouette. The colors of the sky are remarkably accurate and the reflections on the water are subtle and beautiful. According to the Shotei scholar Hisao Shimizu, this is a pre-earthquake design. Scarce. Condition: Excellent impression, color and condition.
