The cameo depicts Hermes, the ancient Greek god of trade, wealth, luck, fertility.Also, Hermes was a patron god of commerce, eloquence, invention, and travel,who serves as herald and messenger of the other gods.To the Romans, the god was known as Mercury. The cameo is mounted in airy crown pronged open back framemeasuring 26 mm X 20 mm. There are no hallmarks, tested 10K gold.Total weight is 8.7 grams. Excellent antique condition.
