For blending purposes, the essential oil is considered a middle note.  Thyme Oil is often used in antiseptic mouthwashes, toothpastes, hand sanitizers, and in anti-fungal products. Thyme essential oil is also anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic. It has been given to soothe muscle aches, clear congestion, and stimulate circulation.
