David Krovblit Deep Dive - Lost Moon, 2021 Original Hand Cut Collage on Wood 30"x30"  A continuation of the Diver theme and motif, the Krovblit’s series progresses with a version of the porthole portraying a circular moon-like disc as a backdrop in this experimental piece. It involves layers of hand-cut collage and resin with gold leaf in between - creating a dream-like, other-worldly dimension. The diver is suspended upon the starry background sky that also mimics a dark underwater sanctuary. While the circular background - gleaming with gold - is reminiscent of the moon. The sweet dichotomy of deep-sea and night sky creates a feeling of harmony and peace. The bell diver imagery is an original photograph by Krovblit that he distressed to have a sea-worn effect.
