Scott Cunningham was an intgral figure in the history of Wicca and pivotal to transforming the Gardnerian tradition. Cunningham developed the means of solitary Wiccan initiation and practice in this book because he found the hetero-normative culture of Gardnerian and Buckland Wicca too restrictive.
