Jindřich Halabala (1903-1978) was a pioneering industrial designer, architect, and theorist who played a crucial role in shaping modern furniture design in interwar Czechoslovakia. He created pieces for mass production that brought modern design to a wider public. This pair of model H-237 was designed in the early 1930s with bent beechwood framing to the arms and nicely arched back. Recently restored with a bright blue fabric and contrast cording that keeps to the original vertical chair channeling. Produced at his factory UP Závody (United Arts and Crafts Factory), Brno Czech. Sold individually, two available.
