Swedish furniture designer Eric Merthen balanced Scandinavian simplicity with luxurious comfort. His "Cadett" armchair is a modernist example with a high degree of comfort. Solid oakwood framing with nicely shaped arms. Beautiful avocado leather cushions, a loose button seat and a seat back affixed with leather strap/buckles. A unique feature is the seat support using saddle leather straps that wrap through the frame and visible to all sides. A very handsome design. Produced by Ire Möbler AB in Sweden, late 1960s.
