The year's summer was defined by sharp contrasts with a heatwave punctuated by storms and even hail. But the end of the season was fine and bright and when the harvest began, the grapes expressed a good level of maturity. A carefully chosen selection of these reserve wines, including a generous 1990 Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, as well as many others predominantly from the first five years of the millennium made up 40% of the blend. This palette of wines from previous years brought the freshness and vivacity so essential to every Édition of Krug Grande Cuvée.
