Envinate, Lousas "Doad", 2023
“Parcela Rosende” is part of Envínate’s Lousas lineup, sourced from a steep, slate-rich vineyard in Ribeira Sacra, where Mencía and other native grapes grow on dramatic slopes overlooking the Sil River. Fermented with native yeasts and whole clusters, aged in neutral oak, and bottled with minimal sulfur, this is a wine that speaks clearly and vividly of place. The 2023 vintage is bright and floral, with notes of red cherry, pomegranate, lavender, and smoky graphite. The palate is vibrant and saline, with fine tannins and electric acidity, more reminiscent of Cru Beaujolais or Northern Rhône Syrah than typical Spanish red. It’s light in alcohol but long in flavor—the kind of red you can chill lightly or sip slowly. Perfect with charcuterie, grilled vegetables, or anything with herbs and a little smoke. If you love wines of texture and transparency, this is a bottle to know.
