Oslavje is a benchmark orange wine from Radikon, one of the original pioneers of extended skin-contact whites in Italy’s Friulian hills. A co-fermented blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc (with a touch of Pinot Grigio in some vintages), it’s macerated on skins for around three months, aged in large barrels for years, and bottled unfiltered in Radikon’s signature 1L format—meant for sharing, but also to let the wine breathe and evolve over time. The 2019 vintage is golden, deep, and alive. Aromatics lean into dried apricot, orange peel, beeswax, and wild herbs, with oxidative nuances and a faint tannic grip. The palate is firm and savory, more about texture and movement than primary fruit—a wine that thinks like red, feels like tea, and drinks like nothing else. Serve cool, not cold, and pair with bold flavors—aged cheese, mushroom risotto, roasted root vegetables, or fermented foods. Radikon Oslavje 2019 isn’t for everyone, but for fans of natural wine and skin-contact expression
