A Whiskey worth the climb. Bryan Nolt was not afraid to set his sights high when he started Breckenrigde distillery back in 2007. Set in a small mountain town 9,600 feet above sea level, Breckenridge is the world’s highest distillery in production. While the logistics of setting up a distillery in this location may have been challenging, the reasons for doing so are quite simple. Half a bottle of any Spirit is about 50% water so Bryan wanted his distillery to be as close as possible to the purest natural water source he could find. Today, with multiple award-winning Bourbons on the mantelpiece, Bryan’s dedication and focus have been fostered throughout the whole distillery team. One such release is the Breckenridge Port Cask. This expression gives the award-winning Breckenridge Blend a final bit of loving with six months in Tawny Port casks.
