
Journeyman Not a King Rye
A powerful old-school Rye Whiskey with a rich mouth feel and classic flavor profile done right. Three Oaks, Michigan is a small town of about fifteen-hundred at the southwestern-most tip of the state. If it were a mile or two further south it would be in Indiana. Journeyman Distillery is located there and bills itself as a working-man’s shop. The building was a buggy whip and corset manufacturer back in the 1800s, and it is this history that influences the names of their twenty-two products — from Featherbone Bourbon to Buggy Whip Wheat and beyond. George Washington has a special place in the history of America and the world. He had the opportunity to seize power twice, but put his country first — famously saying, "I am not a king." Well, not only was he the first President of the United States, he was also a distiller of Rye Whiskey. So it seems totally fitting that the good folks at Journeyman Distillery would pay homage to the man by crafting a Rye Whiskey in his honor. Not a Kin
