
Monkey 47 Distiller's Cut 12th Edition Schwarzwald Dry Gin
A Gin made with the help of monkey magic — and a touch of woodruff. Alexander Stein was a man with a dream: to revive the recipe of a legendary Gin inspired by the tale of WWII Commander Montgomery Collins (aka Monty). After the war, Monty had his hands full with rebuilding the Berlin Zoo, sponsoring a monkey named Max, opening a guest house in honor of said monkey, and creating the legendary Schwarzwald Dry Gin. Just your average post-war to-do list, right? When Stein heard of this tale, he created Monkey 47 — choosing the name after the number of botanicals used in his Gin blends (and the monkey, obviously). He partnered with a like-minded distiller named Christoph Keller, and they set up shop in the very heart of the Black Forest. And before they knew it, their small-batch operation became a global sensation, now owned by Pernod Ricard.
