Knockdhu 'Cadenhead' 2010 / 9 years old 56.2%

The Knockdhu distillery is more famously known for making the modern brand AnCnoc, but all of its casks bare the name Knockdhu, named after the black hill that stands behind the distillery. This new release from Cadenhead was chosen from 3 hoggies that were laid down in 2010 and bottled together at a natural strength of 56.2% The tasting panel at Cadenhead describe this whisky with notes of apricot yoghurt, pineapple fritters and banana bread, with flavours of lemon cake and a zesty green apple flavour. The finish carries a spiced apple quality with runny honey and butterscotch sweets.
