Philine Isabelle, 'Preda' Barolo 2020

A transplant to the Langhe from Germany, Philine has worked alongside some of the top producers in Barolo. She makes just tiny amounts of Nebbiolo currently, though a Barolo from the Preda vineyard  Philine trained as a viticulturist and has worked in both Austria and the Alto Adige before finding her way to Barolo. Her wines are classic, elegant and traditional. Wine Advocate: " Here’s a new name to watch in Barolo. The Philine Isabelle 2020 Barolo Preda is a wine of tension and balance with a beautifully fresh delivery of fruit. It shows an honest and compelling character that is so pretty but also not too complicated. There is tart berry, watermelon, blue flower, blood orange and violet. You get all of the more ethereal and nuanced aspects of Nebbiolo without filters and without any overt sign of outside intervention. Drink this Barolo a few degrees cooler than average and let it warm slowly in the glass."
