A rare and unique Southeast native plant for the shade garden! Appalachian mock orange is a multi-stemmed large shrub with graceful arching branches adorned with clusters of fragrant large white flowers in early spring (April-June). Orange older bark exfoliates. Tolerant of drought, heat, and humidity. Also tolerant of a variety of soils, as long as it is well-drained. Perfect for lighting up dark shade. Matures to 6-12' tall and 6' wide. Hardy in zones 5 to 10.
