It is used throughout many gas detector brands and is an excellent H2S gas sensor replacement element. The hydrogen sulfide gas sensor operates as a constant-potential electrolytic sensor. When hydrogen sulfide and oxygen are present, they undergo complementary redox reactions at the working and counter electrodes, releasing charges that generate a current. Since this current is directly proportional to the hydrogen sulfide concentration, measuring the current allows
