C-type on Fuji Flex. 43.3 x 37.4 (110 x 95 cm), Framed 44.5 x 38.5 inches About the In Between Life and Death series from Casey Moore | These vibrant specimens from the natural world are brought to me dying, their stems cut, their days numbered. These are my attempts to capture their essence before they wilt. The images are intentionally blurry with mixed lighting and skewed colours. I isolate them from their stems to capture some of the tension I feel about them. Tension between the enjoyment of the flower as a beautiful natural object contrasted with the fact that it was probably grown on a farm for temporary indulgence. In these pictures I find some peace and finally I enjoy them! The flowers have been shot over a number of years in different countries (UK, NZ, Australia and Austria, Italy, India, USA) as and when I come across the vases containing them. They are lit with a combination of daylight and artificial / house lights purposefu
