Patek Philippe Tank

An eighteen carat gold gentleman's mechanical 'Tank' style mechanical dress watch.  This is a rare example of a shape not often seen from Patek, although they have been making Tank style watches from nearly one hundred years, this particular model has a more angled and geometric shape to it.  It has the influence of the "Gondolo" reference about it.  As a result of this design it has a real presence on the wrist, even though it is not overly large, and is very thin, it still sits well.  The reference of the watch is the 3491, and has a case serial number 2,655,XXX putting the production circa 1960's.  The case is unpolished with signs of light wear.  The dial is original, and not re-finished and has a very attractive set of Arabic numerals applied to the gold dial in black lacquer.  The watch is powered by the ultra thin calibre 175 movement which was based on a ninety year old design by F.
