Rolex 'Red' Submariner 1680

An automatic, stainless steel, Rolex Submariner with date. This watch could be considered the most iconic, and certainly the most recognizable watch in the Rolex stable. Since its inception into the Rolex line up in 1953 this watch has been worn and loved by deep sea divers, members of the military, movie stars and today's watch collectors. This version marked the second major change to the introduction of the Rolex Submariner with introduction of a date function. This model is the first model to  accommodate  a date function, launched in 1967, and is most easily distinguished by the type "Submariner" on the dial printed in red.  There were six different models of this particular Red submariner dial, and this was the last version before the text became all written in white.  What makes this particular dial a 'Mark VI' dial are the rounded 'S' in Submariner and closed 6's in the feet depth rating.  The watch itself has a worn case, but in keeping with its age, and that this was very muc
