Grown on the rocky, rugged slopes of Pritchard Hill, this wine reflects the intense, concentrated character of the small, flavorful grapes that the hillside wines of Napa Valley are known for. The dry 2021 growing season, marked by a limited crop and small berries, resulted in a wine of exceptional depth, structure, and aging potential, showcasing Chappellet's commitment to precision farming and expressive, terroir-driven wines. Blend: 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 7% Malbec, 6% Merlot "It is a marvelously compact and coiled-up wine with a towering structure. Very beautifully fragrant dried purple flowers and herbs. Full-bodied with loads of succulent ripe blackberry, creme de cassis, graphite, and loamy earth. Very firm, tight-grained tannins form the base note of this wine, and the finish is long and rich in wild herbs and spices. Cellar worthy. It will release internationally in September 2024.
