D. Tinctorius - Tumucumaque (Peacock)

The Peacock morph is newer tinctorius variety to the US hobby and highly sought after due to its striking and unusual color pattern. While initial US imports of this morph were of questionable origin, they were later properly imported from Europe by Saurian Enterprises.  Also known as the dyeing dart frog, d. tinctorius are large (4-6 cm), bold, hardy, and easy to breed. They spend most of the time close to the forest floor, in the front of the vivarium. Combined with their size, boldness and hardiness, tinctorius make an excellent species for both the beginning and experienced hobbyist alike.
