This nude figure drawing is made with a mix of pastels and gouache, signed and dated 1963.Born in Tacoma, WA, on Oct. 23, 1918, Randall lived in Salem, OR, during the 1930s. He created artworks while working as a cook, waiter, boxer, harvest hand, and other odd jobs. In 1942, he moved to San Francisco and continued to paint while shipping out with the Merchant Marine.From 1955 to 57, he was in Montreal, where he painted a mural in the Young Men's and Women's Hebrew Ass'n.In 1959, he opened an art gallery in Mendocino, CA, with his wife, Emmy Lou Packard, and in 1970, he continued the operation in Tomales Bay, CA.
