15. Contemplating Home by Anthony Art

Anthony Art "I respond to the invitation into the woods to commune with our Mother Nature on a meditative level.  Being here, I find peace and solace as I strive to listen to the wisdom of the forest.  The trees, the rocks, the Earth reveal their hidden mysteries.  My watercolors and oil pastels absorb these discoveries onto scraps of wood and paper.  Then I am able to recreate my meditative experience through a larger acrylic painting.  In my desire to reduce waste, I repurpose wood materials as the frames and surfaces of much of my art.  I often return to these places in the woods to visit them like old friends.  I wish for others to see the intricate beauty of Nature as I see it, to feel the sense of inner peace I experience in my art.  I hope that within the small scale of my art the fragility of our planet, our Home,  is apparent."
