Rhode Island Flag

Rhode Island’s flag, adopted in 1897, features a gold anchor surrounded by 13 stars on a white field. The anchor symbolizes hope, which is also the state’s motto, “Hope.” The stars represent Rhode Island as one of the original 13 colonies that formed the United States.
