The mantra of the project is “L’absurde Génie des Fleurs” or the absurd Genius of flowers. Without flowers, there are no grapes, and therefore, no wine. Tom explains;‘As for our way of making wine, it is without concession. No sulphur, no nothing.Only grapes’. Miha & Tom work in the south of France, near Bédarieux in the region of Hérault not far from Montpellier. They are in their early twenties and started in 2016 with their first commercial release in 2018. They work in what they call a 'micro-production’ style. They have a tiny plot of land that is about 12 acres producing a few thousand bottles total across a handful local varieties of mostly Cinsault, Carignan and Clairette. Their biggest hurdle is finding fruit they want to work with that passes their rigorous farming standards.
