Final cost of services to be determined after all goats are disbudded.  Please Note Any goats over 3 weeks of age are too old for the disbudding iron unless done by a vet. Depending on established horn growth at that age, the goat may need a more extensive procedure that needs to be done by a vet.  === How to know when to disbud === Kids are ready to be disbudded when you can feel a prominent 'bump' on the tops of their heads. The hornbud must fit within the inner diameter of the disbudding iron or multiple applications of the iron is needed to get 'in front of' the hornbud growth. Each additional application of the iron increases risk of complications to the kid, so waiting too long just plain old hurts more.
