This is an overbuilt, high-performance armor with built-in redundancies. Built-in trauma pad. 1.1" thick (normal fragmentation control) and 1.15" thick (max fragmentation control). Note that max fragmentation control adds 3 ounces per plate to weight. Significant, high-purity silicon carbide strike face stops some tungsten projectiles. Eliminates (to nearly zero) most ceramic fragmentation on majority of shot placements (when max fragmentation option is selected).
