Performance License

A performance license is a legal requirement that allows you to stage a play publicly, whether or not you charge admission. It ensures the playwright is compensated for their work and that you have the right to perform the play for an audience. Even in non-commercial settings like schools, a performance license is still required for each performance (i.e. If your play has six performances, you must purchase six performance licenses). Purchasing the appropriate number of licenses ensures your production complies with copyright law and supports the creators of the work.
