Sheet 11 5/8" x 17 5/8".Date: 1877.Materials and Techniques: Etching on wove paper.Condition: Waviness along left margin, especially to the upper left corner. remnants of old mount verso. A detailed condition report is available on demand.Note: J.-J. Benjamin-Constant received a third class medal at the Paris Salon in 1874 for a painting "Moroccan Prisoners". At least two more paintings dedicated to this subject are known to exist. Besides this etching executed by the artist himself, there is a woodcut engraving "Thirst: Prisoners in Morocco" from The Masterpieces of French Art by Louis Viardot, Published by Gravure Goupil et Cie, Paris, 1882, Gebbie & Co., Philadelphia, 1883.
