Biosonics Set of 6 Solfeggio Tuning Forks
This listing comes with six Biosonics tuning forks, pamphlet, and velvet pouch for carrying your forks. Note: These tuning forks are made of aluminum, which is a soft metal, great for harmonics and sound healing. Because of this softness, you might find the occasional small mark or scratch. The fork isn’t damaged, nor is the tuning off. It can happen during packing by the manufacturer, or during shipping and handling. We provide safe storage and great care when handling them. The Set of 6 Solfeggio Tuning Forks are tuned to the frequencies traditionally used in the practice of teaching sight-singing. This practice was taught by assigning a specific syllable to each tone in a scale. In the 11th century, music theorist Guido d'Arezzo developed a six-note ascending scale which corresponded to the syllables: Ut, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, and La. Later, a 7th note was added (Si, or Ti), creating the modern syllabic system we're more familiar with today (from the 1965 film The Sound of Music, maybe)
