William Fevre Vaulorent Chablis
Vaulorent is the southernmost vineyard of the wider Fourchaume set of vineyards and is the only Chablis Premier Cru vineyard located on the same hill formation as the Chablis Grand Crus. The Chardonnay-based wines made here are widely considered to be some of the best of the Chablis Premier Cru wines, giving a powerful, elegant style of wine with Chablis' classic mineral characteristics. The vineyard lies at the northern end of the Grand Cru vineyards, bordering the Grand Cru climat of Preuses. While Vaulorent shares the same limestone-rich Kimmeridgian soils as these vineyards, the site does not benefit from quite the same aspect. Pale but glowing, a note of citron confit, an additional depth compared to the Fourchaume. More flesh but perfectly proportioned, fine and elegant, and very long indeed. This should be first class. Flavours will absolutely not go away! As much yellow as white but balanced. Drink from 2028-2036. Tasted Jun 2024. Jasper Morris 92-95 | 5 Star Prominent white f
