PATIENCE -2 Peter 1:6

THE STORY BEHIND THE SCRIPTURE PATIENCE: from the Greek Word, hypomonen, which translates,endurance, steadfastness, patient waiting for.  Cheerful endurance, constancy.      1.  The quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like.      2.  An ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay: to have patience with a slow learner.      3.  Quiet, steady perseverance; even-tempered care; diligence:   What is the importance of "these things"? "For if 'these things'... (DILIGENCE, FAITH, VIRTUE, KNOWLEDGE, SELF-CONTROL, PERSEVERANCE, GODLINESS, BROTHERLY KINDNESS, LOVE) be in you, and abound, they make you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."
