A collection of 4-track cassette demos unlike any Clark recordings we've heard before. In a word, bleak. Gene's lyrical romanticism is still here (somewhere) but to the forefront are some of the darkest, most gothic recordings of his career. Drum machines, synthesizers and loads of tape hiss. A precursor to the 1985 album with Carla Olson "So Rebellious a Lover", this record is a complete 180, vibe wise.
