490221 - 10-32 Knurled Nut - Steel Construction - Black Oxide Finish Includes - 1 Single 10-32 Nut As described in the browning manuals for mounting accessories. This is a 10-32 Knurled Nut. It is designed to be press fit into stocks to use as a mounting point for 10-32 machine screws to mount swivel studs, rails and other accessories. Can work on wood and synthetic stocks. Using a 23/64" bit, drill hole to a depth of roughly .220" or 7/32". Press fit the knurled nut round side down into the hole. You may need to lightly tap with a soft mallet. The use of a 2-part epoxy is recommended for extra strength. If you use a 3/8" drill bit you will slightly oversize the hole. You will then need to use epoxy or fill the hole with a wood filler or glue. You can also use this as a backing nut if you're planning to drill through a wood or synthetic stock using the same instructions above.
