Ford's Introduction says that the House of Representatives and the Governor were often at odds, and the House deemed it expedient to have their Journals published both as a means of swaying public opinion and as a defense against misrepresentations. This book allows one to follow the proceedings of the legislature in 1715 and to gain an understanding of what was happening
